Fox

In and out of tumbling maple leaves

A lively fox skitters and skitters.

This, after a distant trek, a wonderous distraction.

But I cannot stay idle for too long.

For a friend’s offer of tea cannot go unheeded.

A dragon’s lifetime has passed since I last crossed that gate.

Fox’s are pretty good.

Carving

A flurry of wood chippings cover the floor.

From the wood block stands a Buddha.

Dark outside. Moon shines brightly. Tea idly steams.

A hand reaches for another block.

Been a while. A while ago I wrote a poem similar to this, decided to rework it. Inspired by the Busshi in Sekiro.
