Four poems based on Mibu Village

He digs by the fireflies.

This soil has leeched his life, year after year.

He digs by the fireflies.

A forlorn attempt at restoring something, anything.

Shambling villagers clad in haggard clothes

Stuck in long forgotten routines

Patrol the edge of a

once fish laden lake.

|||

An ancient forever village, enveloped in swirling mists.

A sweet song hung in the air, a tether across worlds.

All songs end.

Now the fog hangs especially thick.

|||

Lost in an aimless wander.

Tumbling Sakura petals gleaming in the moonlight.

A temporary balm to knowing

there’s no home to go to.
